"My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Ross House. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The quality of the accommodation on offer far exceeded our expectations. The cottage has been refurbished to a very luxurious standard and it is unusual to find this in combination with the setting. The cottage is right in the middle of an ancient conservation village and it really is like stepping back in time. Although there is a busy atmosphere in the village, the cottage itself is extremely quiet inside and feels very relaxing with a good book by the wood burning stove. It is also surprisingly spacious despite looking small from the outside as it is set on three levels. The back garden is very secluded, self-contained and peaceful. We were amazed by the choice of activities on the doorstep from walks to shops to golf and cycling. There is definitely something for everyone. Falkland is extremely picturesque and highly photogenic. With all the eateries, including a great coffee shop immediately opposite the cottage, you have your choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also an excellent well equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook for yourselves. Apparently the owners lived here for many years themselves and it really shows in the presentation. We would definitely return to Ross House for a relaxing but varied holiday.”  Martin H.

"I stayed at Ross House with my husband. It is a beautiful, comfortable, cosy cottage with lots of lovely features. Loved the log burner, power shower underfloor heating, and comfy bed! All amenities within walking distance and many nice places to wine and dine. In a lovely location with nice walks on the doorstep. We would highly recommend this cottage as accommodation for anyone considering visiting Falkland.”  Lorraine H.

"Absolutely beautiful house in the middle of a pretty village. The house is of a very high standard and had plenty of small touches that made us feel very welcome, including lots of books and games. We spent the week exploring the region and were extremely happy with our stay. We are already recommending Ross House and can't wait to go back again.” Paul W.

"Ross House was a lovely place to stay , it was very clean and comfortable . The welcome pack was much appreciated along with all the other small gestures such as flowers in the rooms. We had a nice time exploring the area and enjoyed our lunch in Campells . We would definitely return to Ross House and recommend it to family and friends.” Lynda W.

"We loved the beautiful, quiet location of this village. The Ross House was everything we hoped it would be--unique, beautiful, comfy beds, beautiful bathrooms, well-stocked kitchen, centrally located in Falkland, heated tile floors.” Sharon M.

"This house was exactly what we hoped for and more, in an old historical village with the ability to walk to Falkland Palace and all restaurants and pubs. We arrived to a card and a wonderful welcome basket from the owner Tim. The house was amazing, old Scotland from the outside but very well modernized inside including underfloor heating in kitchen and bathrooms, great for us Floridians on a cold morning.” Elizabeth F.

"Absolutely wonderful holiday in the idyllic village of Falkland. We were made extremely welcome at Ross House on arrival. The house was beautiful particularly the exceptionally well kitted out kitchen and bathrooms. The secluded and secure garden gave us peace of mind for our 3 children and the lavender and mint smells from the garden were just lovely. We would highly recommend this cottage not simply on the basis of its quality but also due to the owners informal approach and ease of contact both before and throughout our stay." Gail B.

"The minute we set foot in Ross House we felt instantly at home. The house has been decorated beautifully throughout. The welcoming kitchen is fantastic and we especially liked the underfloor heating!! Comfortable beds and relaxing bedrooms. Amazing shower and bathrooms!! The house had a lot of charm and character too! Loved sitting in the little room looking out to the garden. The owners left us lots of little things to get us started - which was a really welcoming nice touch. We could have moved in here - if you ever selling - let us know!!!!! Many many thanks. Ps. The village of Falkland itself is beautiful - quiet but full of charm and welcoming residents in the surrounding restaurants, bars, shops etc... We were very happy here and lots for kids to do in the surrounding area!!" Emma T.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ross House. It is beautiful cottage very well equipped with plenty of books, games and guides about the area. The kitchen is especially well kitted out with everything you could need and we enjoyed the bean coffee and bubbles. Loved the village with its old palace and gardens. Loved the location for exploring Fife. Loved the high quality linen and toiletries not rationed in tiny bottles. We would love to return and are already making a list for our next Falkland adventure. Only complaint was a week was not quite long enough so booking for two weeks next year.” Jennifer R.

"Fantastic location for day trips, walking and golf, delightful village with pubs and restaurants, cosy cottage with every amenity and comfortable beds, clean bathrooms with lovely toiletries, welcome pack generously provided, could not fault it.... Thank you Tim.” Alan K.

"Falkland is a very scenic, touristic place, with nice people, crafty shops, restaurants, tearooms and a great pub. For everyone of our family ( aged 19- 57) the best place to be for a nice holday. You can take a walk, go to the pub and enjoy live music, visit the Falkland castle, etc. A little supermarket in Falkland and Glenrothes in a bout 15 min. for the Asda, Alid and Lidl. Great places to visit: Dundee, Edinburgh, Perth, Inverness, and Dumferline. For a walk at the coast & enjoy fish and ships; we loved to visit St. Andrews, Anstruther and Pittenweem. Ross House is well equiped, nice decorated, and cosy, felt really homely. We hope to come back, to Scotland, Best holiday ever!” Heidy K.

"Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille dans ce gîte! La maison est très bien équipée et la literie est de qualité. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le petit mot d'accueil de Tim et ses attentions (bouteille de prosecco et bières au frigo,...). La maison est idéalement placée dans le village, à deux pas de l'église, du château,.... Le village étant lui-même très beau." Raphael L.

"Ross House is right in the heart of Falkland (shop 150m, Palace 100m, nearest pub 50m). Very comfortable, very well equipped, very clean. Bathroom and shower room beautifully done - with heated floors. We were only two people so we only know about one bed but that was really comfortable. Some good walks, including to the Pillars of Hercules which is well worth going to. Would we stay here again? You bet." Patrick R.

"Lovely character cottage in a scenic and spectacular village. Nothing about the place failed to impress. We were so comfortable staying here and had a hard time prioritising what to do of endless possibilities. Trips to Edinburgh and St Andrews were well rewarded and we were amazed by the centrality of Falkland village for so many options. The cottage was a lovely restful place to return to after our adventures and we were made to feel very welcome with all the extras. Will be staying again to continue with our to-do list as there are other parts of Fife and also beautiful Perthshire that beckon. Great for walkers and shoppers alike. All the best to Tim and his team and hope to be back soon.” Dawn F.wn

“Beautiful house, built in 1700. Very tastefully decorated and fully equipped. The kitchen is well equipped as are the bedrooms, bathroom and shower, dining room, lounge room. A house that's like a warm blanket around you all over.” Ossian F.

"Ross House was a great place to stay. It was clean, heated well and had every thing you would need to stay. It was also in the centre of town and close to good eating venues. I would definitely stay here again.” Anita D.
